Par Stars reviews are unlike any other golf course review you’ve ever read. We understand that golfers are not zombies that approach the game the same, play the same and want the same golf experience when they hit the links. No, golfers are different, and our reviews take that into account. 4/5 stars doesn’t say much, really, and to you 4 stars might mean something very different than it does to your friends.
Our reviews break a golf course down into 4 distinct areas: Challenge, Value, Aesthetics and Experience. Each of these areas has even deeper subsets, such as playability, conditions, service level at the club, offerings in the golf shop, value of goods and services, and more.
When you search our reviews, you get to rank these four primary elements in order of importance and we then fetch courses we reviewed that fit you best. The highest overall reviewed course in our system might not be the course that is best for you but we’ll figure it out and show you courses you will probably like a lot. And if you want to get even more specific, you can answer a few questions about your style of play and we’ll find courses that rank well in those areas and that we think you might love.
Honest and Deep
Our reviews are in-depth and honest, and you’ll know exactly what to expect when you finish reading them. Hopefully they will help you make decision on where to golf that leads to you finding courses that you go back to over and over again.
Our reviews are also realistic (some say we are tough). It is very rare to find a course that scores well across all categories, so if you see scores in the 80s or 90s, that is a very good course. Looking at overall score is helpful, but when you look at the category scores you can see a better picture of what that course is like. For reference, check out our grading scale to the right.
